June 29, 2011 By: Kim Category: Challenges, Fitness Competition, General Fitness, General Health, Wellness Vision

So here were are 6 months into 2011 and I’m revisiting what I’m doing for me bullseye 300x225 My Goals this year. This is the longest that I have gone without a fitness goal.  I got to tell you I’m a feeling a little out of sorts.

This past week I sat down and got clear about what I want to accomplish between now and the end of 2011.

1. Finish the Falmouth Road Race

  • I’d like to run this in under 1 hour
  • I’d like to properly train for this race, the past few years I’ve done a half ass job training for it. (more…)

Feeling The Fear

May 16, 2011 By: Kim Category: Challenges, Inspiration, Motivation, Personal, Random

And doing it any way.  I read this book a few years ago and it still sticks with cliff 197x300 Feeling The Fear me. This week I felt as though I jumped off a high cliff.  I’m in the process of making some serious changes as to how I run my business and decided to take on a business coach.  I’ve known for a few years that at some point I would need to do it, but the time is now to bite the bullet.

I pulled up my big girl panties and LEAPED!

Is there fear that is holding you back. Is there something that you have been thinking about know you should do, but just haven’t taken the steps to make it happen?

Let me tell you. I’m nervous, excited and terrified all at the same time.  I’m a big fan of Lululemon clothing and on their bags they have a number of inspiring phrases.  One of the phrases that sticks with me regularly is Do one thing everyday that scares you. I’ve been living in my comfort zone for a little to long and now I’m OUT! If I want to see change, I need to be the change!

Big things are ahead for me I can just feel it.

What about? What’s  your fear that you can embrace? I would love to hear it. Hell I’d love some company on this journey!

30 Day Spring Shape Up!

March 30, 2011 By: Kim Category: Challenges, General Fitness, General Health, Inspiration, Motivation, Wellness Vision

The calendar may say its spring, but if you live in New England it certainlyskinny jeans 300x300 30 Day Spring Shape Up! doesn’t feel like it. But like they say, if you don’t like the weather in New England just wait a minute and it will change. For the past few years, our weather has a way of skipping its way right through spring and into summer without much notice. So that’s why I think a 30 day challenge is EXACTLY what we all need to get us ready for summer. What does this mean? Typically when you think of making a lifestyle change, you list ALL the things that you need to do and then get overwhelmed or only make a few changes because you get overwhelmed or you quit because you are striving to be perfect. The Fab Fit Squad 30 day challenge is not about being perfect, it’s about making small changes so that you can stick with them over the long haul. Just like me on Facebook and each day I will post a tip of the day, to help you keep up the challenge. The challenge starts, Friday, April 1st. Are you ready?  Leave me some comments below about what you are hoping to change in the next 30 days.

March 22, 2011 By: Kim Category: Challenges, General Fitness, General Health, Nutrition

It’s time that you and Mr./Ms. Scale broke up. You’re not going to call him scale 300x198 Its Time To Break Up!anymore, you’re not going to stalk him on Facebook.  Your just not into him/her any more.

How many of you weigh yourself every day? Multiple times? When you weigh yourself do the results make or break your day? Or do you avoiding weighing yourself because you don’t want to know. (more…)

I STINK!

April 29, 2010 By: Kim Category: Challenges

Not literally, but this was TV tune out week and said I was going to only watch 1 hour of TV, well. I STINK, I haven’t watched more TV but certainly haven’t watched less TV. I’m not someone who sits on the couch and vegges out watching TV, but instead its a source of noise. We have a TV in our kitchen and I turn it on while I’m cooking dinner or even writing in my blog. Some listen to music I listen to CNN. So this challenge I was a complete failure, but I’m okay with that at least I gave it a try.

Could You Tune Out?

April 26, 2010 By: Kim Category: Challenges

This week its suggested the you break up with your tv 300x199 Could You Tune Out?TV.  Studies show that world wide screen time has steadily increased over the years and their is a direct relationship to the rise in the obesity rates.
Turn off week, means turning off all the screens, computers, TVs and video games in your house.

Could you do it? I don’t know.  I know I want to give it a try. This week, I will reduce the amount of time I spend on my computer and watching TV.  After work, I typically watch at least 2 hours of TV and/or working on the computer  a night, I am going to reduce that to 1 hour for this week. I went to the library this week and go some good books that I have been meaning to read. Wish me luck. If you have any suggestions, I would love to hear them.

Stop The Negative Talk!

April 22, 2010 By: Kim Category: Challenges, Motivation

Why is it so much easier to believe the bad vs the good? Why don’t we ever look in the mirror and say, what nice eyes I have or 2748438226 ca5c87d3d4 Stop The Negative Talk!wow my skin is so smooth. Instead we look at ourselves and see all the flaws and talk badly to ourselves worse than anyone would ever say to us. Hopefully, no one talks to you the way you talk to yourself. (more…)

Happiness Challenge Update

April 16, 2010 By: Kim Category: Challenges

When life gives you lemons, you make lemonade. That was this weeks challenge.  How’s it been j0401666 300x199 Happiness Challenge Updategoing good. I take public transportation and often times we get packed in there like sardines. I carry a rather large gym bag and get looks for it. I usually roll my eyes when someone give me a look when they get hit with my bag, but instead I just smiled and said excuse me. Did that kill me no, did combust on the spot no. My takeaway — if you want to be a miserable shrew that your prerogative, I am not going to sink to your level. I will just kill you with kindness. As my husband always says you’ll catch my flies with honey than with vinegar.

April 10, 2010 By: Kim Category: Challenges, General Health

This week I challenged myself to come up with 3 things that make me happy every day. I was speaking with one of my clients about this and the one Four rocks balance Me Timething that kept bubbling up to the top was me time.  I asked her how much ME time to does she have. She said this is it! There 168 hours in 1 week and she only give herself 2 hours with me. I’m flattered, but SERIOUSLY!! That is so SAD! (more…)

Are you depressed?

April 08, 2010 By: Kim Category: Challenges

Last night before we go to bed, my husband asked was I depressed because I’ve been writing about getting happy and he was worried. I was like 695552819 8f3e14bdff Are you depressed?no, I just saw this segment on Dr. Oz and wanted to see if I could do the challenge because I thought it was interesting.

Depressed… Hmm don’t know if I ever really get depressed. Wikipedia defines depression as feelings of sadness, helplessness, or hopelessness. Yes I do feel sad, and helpless at times, but those are times that also fire me up. Those times make me take a look inside and say HEY!!! YOU GOT KNOCKED ON YOUR ASS NOW WHAT!! Please note, I do believe depression is a serious issue and if you are feeling depressed you should seek professional help.

Thank you Philip for asking, but I’m not depressed, and after these past few days I realize that  I’m not a Debbie Downer either. (more…)
